About the Role
Choice Teachers are working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Erith who are looking to appoint a dedicated and organised Food Technician on a permanent basis, starting as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive Design & Technology department within a friendly school environment where staff are valued and teamwork is at the heart of the school community.
Roles & Responsibilities
Preparing ingredients, equipment, and materials for Food Technology lessons
Supporting teachers and students during practical cooking sessions
Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen classroom
Ensuring all health & safety and food hygiene regulations are followed
Monitoring stock levels and placing orders when required
Checking and maintaining kitchen equipment, reporting any issues
Supporting with classroom displays and preparation of teaching resources
Managing allergen information and ensuring food safety compliance
Clearing and resetting the classroom between lessons
Requirements
Experience working in a kitchen, catering, or school environment (desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A proactive, flexible, and reliable approach
Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable)
Safeguarding
An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required for this role. Candidates must hold a valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
