An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Education and Development team at Frimley Park Hospital as a Band 6 Clinical Educator.
Applications are invited from nurses with a passion for clinical education and practice development with the drive to ensure clinical staff provide high quality, safe and compassionate care to our patients.
Main duties of the job
* To provide a link between the ward/departments and the Clinical Education department
* To support all learners and staff
* Working clinically for 70% (minimum) of contracted hours in the clinical area

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* To work with the Clinical Education team to provide support and assistance to all learners and staff
* To provide a link between the ward/departments and the Clinical Education department
* To take on the role of a workstream link within the clinical education directorate
* To support the implementation of practice changes in response to identified corporate and patient safety issues
* To assist in the delivery of educational programmes to meet specific training needs including objective structured clinical examination (OSCE)
* To be responsible for own professional conduct and maintain own professional development by updating knowledge and attending study days
* To function as a practicing professional and participate in direct patient care in line with NMC code
* To provide clinical support to identified ward/area as requested and agreed by senior clinical education team leader
* To maintain records and progress reports on interactions with learners especially those needing additional support
* To prioritise, plan and organise own work schedule, ensuring that deadlines are met and anticipated difficulties in meeting deadlines are promptly reported
* Maintain confidentiality during communication consistent with legislation and employer policies

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Current NMC registrant
* Practice Assessor or equivalent or working towards
Experience
Essential criteria
* 2 years recent clinical experience at Band 5/6
* Recent experience of supervising, assessing and supporting students and junior staff
* Ability to prepare, deliver and evaluate training programmes including objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) preparations
Desirable criteria
* Experience of Clinical Audit
* Experience of working within education
* Experience of change management
Skills and Knowledge
