Working within our busy Service and Maintenance Centre in Kingston.
The purpose of the role is to carry out all workshop duties in an efficient and safe manner, to meet customer requirements and maximise utilisation and profitability. As a Diagnostic Technician you will diagnose complex systems across the whole range of vehicle systems, as well as routine service and repairs.
THE PERSON:
1. We are looking ideally for candidates with previous main dealer experience; however, any diagnostic experience will be considered.
2. Ideally a record of working within the automotive industry in a similar position.

Key Tasks:
10. Carry out vehicle services and repairs, in accordance with Toyota GB technical standards, ensuring we deliver a great customer experience.
11. In depth Electrical & Mechanical Diagnostics: Examine vehicles, diagnose non-routine defects, with knowledge gained about the vehicles and relevant technologies.
12. Provide Technical Expertise to the workshop team (i.e. Coach and support apprentice technicians, explaining, guiding and enabling others to learn.)
13. Report defects against Department of Environment (MOT) and Vehicle Safety Report (VSR) standards.
14. Carry out jobs within budgeted time, maintaining your own productivity
15. Take responsibility for daily maintenance of tools and equipment, reporting any defects
16. Work in accordance with key Toyota or Centre processes
17. Liaise with customers directly where relevant and appropriate, listening carefully to build rapport and answering questions in a warm and professional manner to summarise details of work required or carried out
18. Attend specialised training as required.
19. Work as a full member of the Centre team, working with colleagues to provide a seamless and outstanding service to customers
Experience and Qualifications
20. 1 year+ experience in diagnostics.
21. Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in motor vehicle maintenance (or comparable).
22. Manufacturer Diagnostic Accreditation or equivalent
23. A full UK Driving Licence (required)
24. MOT Tester or interested in Certifying as an MOT Tester

26. Flexible to work hours required to carry out the role effectively and travel (to the training sessions)
