Job Overview
The Safeguarding Adults Nurse will:
1. Work as part of the Trust Safeguarding Team to promote the Adult Safeguarding agenda, Think Family approach, and a culture of professional curiosity.
2. Provide effective safeguarding advice, support, and supervision under the direction of the Lead Nurse and attend Multi-Agency meetings as required.
3. Ensure the Trust meets statutory obligations to safeguard and promote the welfare of all adults, children, and young people accessing services.
4. Support the development and delivery of quality assurance and innovative practice within the Adult Safeguarding Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver safe and effective safeguarding practice.
* Ensure high standards of clinical care and record keeping in line with NMC standards, legislation, and trust policies.
* Holistically assess individuals' safeguarding needs and support staff in planning appropriate actions and referrals.
* Contribute to fostering a culture of continuous learning, evidence-based practice, and succession planning.
Qualifications and Experience
* Current UK professional registration (NMC Registered Nurse, Midwife, or RMN).
* Degree-level nursing qualification or equivalent experience in acute or community nursing.
* Recent relevant safeguarding experience and knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
* Effective leadership and resilience to work with adults/children at risk of abuse.
* Experience with data input, analysis, audit, evaluation, and use of databases.
* Proficiency in IT packages such as Word and Excel.
Skills and Competencies
* Excellent communication skills, empathetic and positive attitude, and ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to act on own initiative and model Trust values and standards of behaviour.
