SupportED is Scotland’s leading eating disorder charity
We exist to improve the lives and wellbeing of people affected by eating disorders –and of their families and carers.
We do this through our Befriending and Support Group services (in-person and online) – offering understanding, connection and hope to those who need it most.
Our services are volunteer-led, with many of our volunteers themselves having lived experience of eating disorder recovery.
The demand for our services is growing rapidly
With public services becoming overwhelmed and increasingly unable to meet the needs of those with an eating disorder, as well as their families, we provide a vital source of support. Very often we are the only source of such support.
As a result, we are making a big positive impact on people’s lives. Our goal is to continue to grow our services to support as many more people as possible.
As we focus on expanding our services across Scotland, we are now seeking a new Trustee to join our Board who will serve as our Treasurer.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to use your financial skills and experience to make a real difference to the mental and physical wellbeing of individuals, their families, and carers across Scotland.
You’ll play a key role in keeping our finances healthy and transparent. You don’t need to be an accountant – what matters most is a good understanding of finance, the ability to communicate this to the Board, an eye for detail, and a genuine commitment to our purpose.
We are fortunate to already have a strong Board. We work well together, and we’re looking for someone who is similarly collaborative, hands‑on, and able to contribute with their skills and experience.
The Board meets six times a year, two of which are face to face in the Central Belt (half or full day), with the other four being online (weekday evenings, duration two hours).
Our Treasurer should expect to commit around 5-10 hours per month, on average, through the year. Trustee terms are for three years, potentially renewable twice (ie nine years max).

Treasurer / Trustee Role & Responsibilities
* Overseeing SupportED’s financial management, budgets, and reporting
* Providing sound advice and insight to enable the Board to make good financial decisions
* Contributing to strategic planning and decision-making
* Ensuring the charity follows legal and regulatory requirements.
* Acting as a champion for the charity’s aims, values, and beneficiaries.
What You’ll Bring

* An understanding of (or willingness to learn about) charity finances
