Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Senior Immunisation Nurse on a 22.5 hour basis. This senior role requires an experienced professional in delivering children\'s vaccination programmes. The post holder will support the Head of Service in managing to deliver the Commissioned BCG Programme and School Aged Immunisation Programmes for children and young people aged 0-19 and their families.
Responsibilities
* Work in collaboration with the Head of School Aged Immunisations to ensure alignment of professional priorities with organisational priorities and core business.
* Deliver operational management for the Immunisation Team, including continuous responsibility for appropriate workload allocation and effective team management through supervision processes.
* Provide strong professional leadership and ensure effective performance management of the team.
* Act as an exemplary role model, providing high standards of evidence-based clinical practice and promoting and monitoring safe and effective practice.
* Lead and participate in supervision, teaching and mentoring of staff, assess risk, and ensure the safety of young people and employees.
* Support service change and development to ensure a robust and responsive service, including day-to-day coordination and effective use of resources to meet countywide needs.
* Assist in planning and delivery of the vaccine programmes and the BCG service, including school-aged immunisation and related training for team members and stakeholders.
* Be flexible to meet the needs of the Service, including occasional evenings and weekends when required.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience delivering children\'s vaccination programmes and working in immunisation services.
* Strong leadership, management and communication skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor staff.
* Knowledge of school-aged immunisation programmes and BCG delivery.
* Ability to analyse service delivery, support planning, and work collaboratively with partner organisations.
