SENIOR TEACHING ASSISTANT - BEHAVIOUR
Start Date: ASAP (and no later than January 2026)
31.25 hours a week, term time only (8.30am-4.00pm Monday to Friday, including a 15 minute unpaid mid-morning break and a 30 minute unpaid lunch break), plus up to 5 INSET days as required
APT&C 4/5 £22,034 - £24,726 p.a. pro-rata salary (£30,288-£33,987 p.a. FTE)
We are have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Teaching Assistant – Behaviour to join our existing pupil support team.
Reporting directly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), the role of the Senior Teaching Assistant – Behaviour is to positively impact upon pupils exhibiting behaviour which is adversely affecting their attendance, progress and attainment at school.
The successful candidate will be experienced and trained in working to support pupils with behaviour and/or social, emotional and mental health needs. They may also have previous training in trauma-informed practice.
They will be responsible for the organisation and delivery of high quality behaviour support for vulnerable pupils and their families as part of our wider SEN Team. The work will support families in managing their child’s behaviour and will improve outcomes for children and their families by improving communication and links between home and school.
All staff employed by the school work across both school sites. The hours will be Monday to Friday, term time only, 8.30am until 4.00pm, to include a 15 minute unpaid morning break and a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

The successful candidate will be flexible, hardworking, show initiative, have a good sense of humour, work well as part of a team and be willing to undertake in-house training.
They must:
1. Hold a Level 3 qualification (CACHE Level 3, Level 3 Diploma, NVQ3) or equivalent Specialist Teaching & Learning Support or Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent (and be able to provide the original certificates for these as evidence).
2. Have at least 5 GCSEs (grades 4-9/A* to C), or equivalent, including English and Mathematics (and be able to provide the original certificates for these as evidence).
3. Have expertise in behaviour management and social inclusion and/or trauma-informed practice
4. Have experience of planning, developing and delivering social, emotional and behavioural learning programmes under self-direction.
5. Demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of special educational needs and the co-morbidity between areas of need for pupils with higher level/complex needs.
6. Demonstrate a knowledge of positive parenting strategies and the ability to support families under stress.
