Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is recruiting a Fleet Supervisor to support the effective management of its operational fleet. The role provides daily oversight of vehicle activity and works closely with Emergency Services Fleet Management to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant and ready for use. It also supports the Fleet Manager and contributes to fleet modernisation and capital programme delivery.
You will ensure the management of maintenance schedules, unplanned repairs and continuing statutory compliance. You will assist with procurement, vehicle specifications and tender evaluations. The role involves regular liaison with contractors and suppliers and supports budget monitoring and accurate use of fleet data systems. You will lead investigations into vehicle-related incidents and contribute to policy, briefing material and statutory information responses.
Applicants should have a relevant Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience, along with continued professional development in fleet or project work. You will need sound knowledge of fleet operations, a health and safety qualification and experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Strong communication skills, IT literacy, a proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
