About the job
As a Waste Campaigns Coordinator, you will play a key role in leading the delivery of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling campaigns across Cardiff. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the Waste Campaigns Team, ensuring campaign messages are delivered effectively at events and providing one-to-one support to residents on waste-related matters. You will also research and analyse relevant data to inform waste services and shape educational campaigns.
In addition, you will coordinate the “Love Where You Live” team, driving community-focused initiatives that encourage local ownership and improve environmental quality. This varied role includes developing partnerships, managing volunteer programmes, and working closely with residents to foster engagement and positive environmental behaviours.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will have a strong background in front-line environmental operations and experience supervising teams and working with volunteers or community groups. We value individuals who can effectively seek and understand others' views, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and have a positive attitude towards new challenges and adaptability to change.
In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisation. You will need to be able to multi-task, take ownership of issues and be IT literate in most Microsoft packages.
You will be able to quickly adapt to technologies used by the service. You will need to understand and operate in line with Council Policies and Procedures. You must maintain the reputation of the Council by adopting a professional and courteous approach.

This is a temporary position until 31st March 2027.
