Commercial law firm in London is looking to recruit two Planning lawyers – one of 0 to 1 and the other of 2 or more years’ PQE. The team advises on all aspects of Planning law, policy, strategy, and risk management, with particular expertise in relation to the negotiation and drafting of complex s106 and s278 agreements, affordable housing, viability, CIL, tall buildings, regeneration (including CPO and appropriation), urban extensions, town centre schemes and waterside projects. The team has an impressive client portfolio and is the number one choice for the UK’s major residential developers, (especially those engaged in schemes in London/the Southeast, and in the Northwest), and act on some of the largest and most complex mixed use development projects in the country. As a planning lawyer with experience, either in-house, or private practice, this is an excellent opportunity to work closely with, and learn from partner level lawyers, as you assist them on major and complex multi-million-pound developments. The Head of the department is passionate about the career development of her team and has mentored/guided various members of her team from NQ to partnership, enabling them to take ownership of projects, from the outset. Day to day tasks will include: • Taking responsibility for delivering your own matters, (under an appropriate level of supervision or not, depending on your PQE) • Having a high degree of client contact • Drafting Section 106 and Section 278 agreements • Prepping senior members for high profile meetings by conducting research • Creating first drafts of documentation for Counsel meetings. The successful candidates will be passionate about the Planning sector and eager to continue their professional development in a team of specialists. Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of drafting Section 106 and Section 278 agreements and, overall, demonstrate a good foundational knowledge of Planning law. Newly-qualified candidates will have undertaken a seat in Planning law. Our client is open to seeing candidates from both in-house and private practice.
