We are currently seeking a Facilities Operative to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
The Facilities Operative is responsible, alongside the wider Estates Team, for ensuring the effective opening and closing of the Hammond Estate, maintaining site security, and carrying out general maintenance and upkeep tasks. The role supports the smooth running of the estate so that students, staff and visitors have a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment in which to learn, work and carry out their activities.
- Be responsible for opening the grounds and buildings across the Hammond Estate, ensuring all facilities are safe, secure and suitable for their daily purpose.
- Be responsible for closing the Hammond Estate, ensuring all buildings and grounds are fully vacated, secured and appropriately alarmed.
- Be a Key Holder on standby dutie s, in line with your rotating shift pattern. This includes being available for callouts relating to fire alarms, intruder activations or major incidents (e.g., significant leaks), while working proactively to minimise the need for site attendance.
- Set up and break down performance, academic and event facilities, ensuring all spaces are prepared safely, efficiently and to the required standard for a wide range of activities across the estate.
- Resolve general maintenance issues as directed by the Facilities Manager, undertake tasks within own technical capability or assist other members of the Estates Team to complete works safely and effectively.
- Ensuring full awareness and compliance with all Hammond Health & Safety, Safeguarding and relevant organisational policies and procedures, by completing all mandatory training and annual refresher training as required.
-Carry out any other reasonable duties associated with the role and the wider Estates Team, ensuring a flexible and proactive approach to supporting the operational needs of the Hammond Estate.
