An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly rural practice as a Medical Receptionist. You will be part of a well-respected, supportive practice that prides itself on providing high quality care for its patients. As first point of contact for our patients, their families and visitors, it is vital that the successful candidate provides a high standard of customer service.
The right candidate must possess the following skills:
· Excellent communication skills, both face to face and over the telephone
· Proven customer services skills and the ability to be compassionate

· Be able to work as part of a team
The post is for 24 hours per week worked over set days (Monday, Wednesday & Friday) You will be expected to work at both locations and have the ability to work flexibly to provide cover at all times. Previous experience in General Practice would be a distinct advantage, particularly knowledge of EMIS Web and Docman systems, but full training will be given. Salary is dependent on experience.

The practice is supported by our excellent multi-disciplinary team. We operate from purpose-built premises, across 2 sites (Fenny Compton and Shenington) providing high quality care to approx. 5,400 patients. We are a high-achieving, well-organised, dispensing practice and use EMIS Web.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system
b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers' request appropriately
d. Signpost patients to the correct service
e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
f. Action all incoming emails
g. User the text messaging service as required, ensuring responses go to the correct clinician
h. Scan all correspondence into the patients' record, workflowing letters as per the clinical correspondence policy
i. Clinically code data on EMIS
j. Register new patients in line with practice policy
k. Photocopy documentation as required – such as new patient packs
l. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
m. Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
n. Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors' letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
o. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
p. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
q. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
r. Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour
