Overview

Volunteer Manager role within Provide CIC, NHS site in Colchester. This newly established role sits within the Talent and Learning team and reports to the Director, Talent and Learning. The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for enhancing and expanding Provide's volunteering initiatives, significantly growing volunteer engagement, fostering strong relationships with staff, implementing strategic development plans and creating meaningful opportunities for volunteers. The role will play a crucial part in enriching the services we provide and improving the patient experience within our communities.


Main duties

* Developing a long-term vision for volunteer engagement across the organisation
* Contribute to and deliver the Volunteer Strategy
* Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies across the organisation
* Design and deliver induction, training and mentorship programs to maximise volunteer engagement
* Monitor volunteer attendance and maintain quality experiences
* Co-ordinate cross functional teams to optimise volunteer engagement
* Develop partnerships with external organisations and manage strategic relationships
* Manage volunteer budgets and expenses

Person specification

Qualifications

* Essential: Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience and knowledge
* Essential: Evidence of CPD

Desirable criteria

* Business development and project management qualifications

Experience

* Essential: Proven experience in volunteer management
* Essential: Strong leadership and management capabilities
* Essential: Excellent communication and people skills
* Essential: Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
* Desirable: Previous NHS or healthcare sector experience
* Desirable: Knowledge of volunteer sector best practices

Skills

* Essential: Ability to understand, disseminate and present complex information verbally, in writing and in reports
* Essential: Ability to engage and influence stakeholders and service users at various levels of the organisation
* Essential: Negotiate and influence with confidence, tact and diplomacy
* Essential: Manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities
