Overview
Territory area: Leicestershire - Lincolnshire - Nottingham - Sheffield - Hull - Stockport - Stoke -on- Trent. Salary: £39,300 - £44,300 dependent on experience + Company Performance bonus. Benefits include company car and exceptional benefits. Hours: 37.5 per week, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm, with occasional weekend work (up to 10-12 weekends a year) for dog/cat show events.
The Area Business Manager role at Royal Canin is critical to reach more Partners (breeders and rescue) to increase recommendation and drive retention. It is a field-based role covering part of Northern England, responsible for the relationship with our breeders and Rescue Partners. The role focuses on recommending Royal Canin products to new puppy/kitten and dog/cat owners in line with the Value Partnerships strategy, supporting growth by serving more pets. The role also manages sales value and volume of an extended portfolio including PRO bespoke products and a range of Pet Specialty Retail SKUs. The position involves building relationships within the Pet Professionals, employing a consultative selling approach to co-create solutions that enhance nutritional knowledge, usage, and mutual benefits through nutrition and beyond. Attendance at dog and cat shows throughout the year, including some weekends, will be required; you will work on our show unit with other PRO team members as needed.
Responsibilities
* Strive to achieve key KPIs, including new Breeder Acquisition to drive recommendation, distribution and product volume, supported by deep product knowledge to enable Partners (breeders and rescue centres) to have relevant and impactful conversations with new Pet Owners.
* Identify new customer opportunities and prospects.
* Develop trusted relationships with all key Partners with a consumer-centric and consultative selling approach to co-create solutions for mutual benefits with health through nutrition outcomes.
* Execute effective and efficient territory management and adhere to the coverage model to ensure customers are visited in line with their classification.
* Follow a structured sales call with objectives for every visit and record outcomes in the Set to Sell CRM system.
* Maintain a deep knowledge of products and the portfolio; use training tools to share knowledge with key partners.
* Actively participate in weekly "Meet The Numbers" meetings with Head of PRO and peers, reporting performance versus targets and performing risk/opportunity analysis.
* Attend cat and dog shows and events (some weekend work required); work as part of a team and take on lead as Show Manager when required; support the Show and Events strategy.
Qualifications
* Direct Experience: Minimum 1 year proven track record in territory sales or within a sales function (selling direct to the end consumer), ideally within the Petcare industry.
* Tech Savvy: Strong presentation and IT skills (proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to support effective sales analysis and territory management.
* Excellent communication, time management and planning/organisational skills.
* Driver's License: A clean driving record is required.
* Awareness of Royal Canin products and brand.
* Enjoy working around cats and dogs.
