Job Summary

We are seeking a CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector to join our team on nights. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role is vital in maintaining the organisation's reputation for excellence and compliance within the industry.

Duties

* Ensure all activities and actions are in-line with Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements and regulations, maintaining a safe, 5S clean work area.
* Provide technical support and liaison between quality, engineering and production departments.
* Ensure priority lists are worked to, to satisfy production and customer deadlines.
* Conduct First-off, in-process, sub-contract and Final Inspections, utilising various inspection methods as required. This may include visual inspection, hand-held equipment, first principle methods, CMM inspection and new technologies.
* Generate, prove, and maintain 'CMM inspection programs', using applicable software including Cameo, ensuring the program output achieves engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications.
* Establish appropriate datums, alignments, probing strategies, measurement sequences, controlled set-up details and SOPs to ensure accurate, repeatable, and robust inspection results.
* Verify drawing, CAD model, specification, batch card, SOPs and inspection program versions align prior to inspection.
* Perform first-off and first-article CMM program validation, confirming results against hand-held or alternative inspection methods and provide results for First articles, where required.
* Modify, maintain, and optimise inspection programs to improve inspection repeatability, efficiency and cycle time, while maintaining measurement integrity and revision control.
* Participate in DFMEA / PFMEA / APQP activities and, assist with Quality investigations and improvement initiatives.
* Support/Participate in Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities for inspection processes.
* Ensure product is free from Foreign Object Debris and Foreign Object Damage (FOD), working within the requirements of the FOD programme.
* Review, interpret, and report CMM inspection results, highlighting out-of-tolerance conditions, trends, potential process issues, and provide technical input to support investigations and continuous improvement activities.
* Ensure inspection equipment, including CMMs, are calibrated and suitable for use, conduct inspections in accordance with batch card operation and inspection SOP requirements.
* Complete inspection process, batch cards, inspection records and reports correctly, in a timely manner, when applicable confirming concessions, deviation reports, and DR / NCR process are correctly applied, ensuring data is controlled and retention per procedure and customer requirements, and batch card disciplines are applied.
* When required, confirm only approved parts and materials have been used, check batch cards against material certificates, and ensure applicable records are complete and traceable.
* Confirm identification marks are legible and conform to drawing and specification requirements.
* Raise and complete Deviation Reports, using appropriate feature over-check methods.
* Raise nonconformance reports, liaising with relevant departments to support investigations and corrective actions.
* Be an authorised stamp holder.
* Provide guidance and support to other inspectors in the execution and interpretation of CMM programs.
* Complete effective handovers at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring that relevant Quality-related information is communicated.
* Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues by adopting suitable behaviours and setting high personal standards, promoting quality performance across the team.
* Represent the business in a professional and ethical manner.

Experience

* Proven experience in a quality assurance role.
* Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or issues effectively.
* Familiarity with quality assurance tools, techniques, and documentation practices.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This position is ideal for candidates committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety, eager to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and possess relevant experience in analysis and quality assurance practices.
