Job Title: Construction Manager Location: Manchester Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 The Client Our client are a privately owned Principal Contractor, adapting Modern Methods of Construction to deliver high specification-built environments and projects within the healthcare sector. They specialise in healthcare and are looking for a Construction Manager to join their team. The Role of Construction Manager The construction manager will report to the Senior Construction Manager or Project Lead and liaise closely with the site-based project manager and Site Manager and have overall responsibility for securing and coordinating the construction packages. Roles & Responsibilities Assisting the project manager and project team with all aspects of project works, including close liaison with the site-based construction manager. Monitoring progress against programme, plans and specifications to keep projects on track and meet deadlines. Be able to organise day to day activities independently as well as be able to work as part of a team to get projects over the line. Manage resources effectively for best output/results. Assessment, negotiation and agreement of sub-contractors (variations, time, cost & quality). Attend Progress meetings and communicate with sub-contractors and suppliers on a regular basis, Attending site to coordinate subcontractors as needed for the demands of the project, including overnight stays where necessary. Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries. Negotiate with Suppliers / Sub-contractors to secure advantageous terms. Create and maintain relationships with Suppliers / Sub-contractors Adoption, utilisation and promotion of software including 4P, R-Drive, Multivista, M-Site and Asta Power Project. Regularly review supplier performance and provide feedback to Bidding/Procurement team.
