Power Tool Test & Repair Technician Milton Keynes £14.50 £15.00 per hour Monday to Friday | 8:00am 5:00pm We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Power Tool Test & Repair Technician to join our busy workshop team in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with mechanical or electrical repair experience who enjoys hands-on technical work and takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and service.The Role as a Power Tool Test & Repair Technician The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, fault diagnosis, testing, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of power tools and associated equipment. You will ensure all repaired tools are safe, compliant, fully operational, and completed to the highest standards.Key Responsibilities Inspection & Diagnosis as a Power Tool Test & Repair Technician Assess customer-returned, warranty, and in-house tools for faults and damageCarry out visual inspections and operational testingDiagnose mechanical, electrical, battery, charger, and performance-related faultsIdentify warranty eligibility where applicableAccurately document findings and repair recommendationsRepair & Maintenance Repair power tools including drills, saws, grinders, sanders, breakers, nail guns, and pressure washersReplace defective components such as motors, switches, bearings, brushes, gearboxes, batteries, and chargersPerform servicing and preventative maintenanceRebuild and refurbish tools where economically viableEnsure all repairs meet manufacturer specificationsTesting & Quality Assurance Conduct electrical safety checks and operational testingCarry out PAT testing where applicableVerify safety features including guards, switches, and triggersComplete final inspections and sign-off documentationEnsure all tools meet safety and performance standards before releaseStock & Parts Management Identify and request spare parts and consumablesMaintain accurate records of parts used and repair costsSupport workshop stock control and inventory managementLiaise with suppliers for parts and technical supportHealth & Safety Follow all Health & Safety regulations and workshop proceduresWork in line with COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, and electrical safety standards where applicableMaintain a clean, safe, and organised workshopUse PPE and workshop equipment correctlyWhat Were Looking For Experience repairing power tools, electrical equipment, or mechanical systemsGood fault-finding and diagnostic skillsAbility to work independently and manage workloads effectivelyStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityBasic understanding of electrical safety and testing proceduresPAT testing experience advantageous but not essentialWhat We Offer Competitive hourly rate of £14.50 £15.00 per hourStable Monday to Friday working hoursFriendly and supportive workshop environmentOpportunity to develop technical skills and grow within the businessApply today for the Power Tool Test & Repair Technician role to join a growing team where your technical skills and attention to detail will be valued.TPBN1_UKTJ
