Are you a technically skilled, hands-on operator with a passion for live television? We're looking for a Multi-Skilled Studio Operator to join our fast-paced auction channel, where you'll play a vital role in executing live broadcasts, managing robotic camera systems, and overseeing floor operations. This is a dynamic role that blends technical expertise with production support, ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and enjoys being at the heart of live studio action.
Pre-Broadcast Duties:
* Ensure all studio equipment is fully operational and ready for live transmission
* Set up robotic cameras, autocue, and lighting systems
* Attend production meetings and communicate any technical concerns to the director
* Maintain health and safety standards on the studio floor, including cable management
* Support studio relocations and collaborate with production teams to meet broadcast needs
Live Broadcast Execution:
* Operate robotic cameras and provide shot suggestions to the director
* Monitor and troubleshoot auction software and visual output systems
* Ensure compliance with OFCOM regulations through accurate recording and archiving
* Maintain optimal video and audio levels throughout the broadcast
* Cue and verify all clips, promos, and schedules for air
* Replace batteries for radio mics and talkback units as needed
* Provide technical cover during crew breaks and absences

* Experience in live broadcast environments or studio operations
* Strong technical knowledge of camera systems, lighting desks, and sound equipment
