A leading insurtech company revolutionizing the insurance industry through innovative technology solutions are seeking a talented SQL MI/BI Developer to join their dynamic team. Position Overview: As an integral member of the technology department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SQL-based solutions for management information (MI) and business intelligence (BI) purposes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and optimize databases, extract and analyze data, and generate actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support MI and BI requirements.
* Design, implement, and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
* Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses or data marts.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
* Create and maintain documentation for database schemas, data flows, and ETL processes.
* Develop and automate reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
* Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
* Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a SQL Developer, BI Developer, or similar roles in the insurtech or insurance industry would be a big plus.
* Strong proficiency in SQL programming, including complex queries, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
* Experience with data modelling, database design, and normalization principles.
* Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes, such as SSIS, Informatica, or similar.
* Familiarity with BI tools and technologies, such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement (2 days in the Essex office) and a competitive salary of up to £70k, which is flexible for the right candidate. The comprehensive package includes a pension plan, health insurance and more.
