 
        
        Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Contractor’s Quantity Surveyor to oversee the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects across London. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, valuations, and project cost control ensuring profitability, compliance, and delivery excellence. This is a hands-on role with direct influence over project outcomes, offering exposure to high-profile hospitality, mixed-use, and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting
 * Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies for construction projects.
 * Conduct cost planning, risk analysis, and financial forecasting.
 * Support project teams in assessing commercial viability and cost efficiency.
2. Tendering & Procurement
 * Manage procurement of materials, subcontractors, and services within budget and schedule constraints.
 * Prepare BOQs, cost plans, and tender documentation.
 * Negotiate subcontractor contracts and ensure cost-effective sourcing strategies.
3. Contract Administration
 * Prepare, review, and manage construction contracts, variations, and claims.
 * Ensure compliance with JCT and other standard forms of contract.
 * Handle contractual disputes and support project teams with commercial advice.
4. Valuations & Payment Management
 * Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
 * Assess and certify subcontractor and supplier payments.
 * Monitor project cash flow and maintain financial accuracy across stages.
5. Cost Control & Reporting
 * Track project costs, budgets, and expenditure in alignment with forecasts.
 * Produce financial and commercial reports for senior management.
 * Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
6. Site Visits & Client Liaison
 * Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and financial performance.
 * Collaborate with clients, consultants, project managers, and site teams.
 * Provide expert advice on cost and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Requirements
 * Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
 * Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIOB) preferred.
 * Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a contractor or developer-side QS role.
 * Strong understanding of JCT forms of contract and contract law.
 * Proven track record in cost control, valuations, and procurement.
 * Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
 * Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a collaborative approach.
 * Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
