Sister / Charge Nurse – NHS Blood and Transplant
We have an opening for a Sister / Charge Nurse to lead a team of Healthcare Assistants and Donor Care Supervisors. The role is part full‑time (18.75h per week) and requires strong leadership, clinical expertise and a drive for continuous improvement.

Job Summary
Your main responsibilities will be:
 * Taking clinical responsibility for the safe assessment and blood donation of our donors.
 * Being accountable for the safe running of a blood donation session.
 * Ensuring an excellent donor experience.
 * Maintaining the competency and skills of your team and yourself.
 * Adapting communication styles for difficult conversations.
 * Continuously developing professional practice and contributing to organisational improvement.
Your working hours will be 18.75 hours per week, worked over 2 long days on a shift basis. Shifts can run up to a 9 pm finish, weekends are usually not required, and bank holiday cover may be required.
About You
Experience and Knowledge
 * Demonstrate leadership qualities and best practice to deliver high‑quality care.
 * Support the professional development of others.
 * Understand clinical audit, research and improvement.
 * Appreciate patient safety initiatives and risk management.
 * Work confidently with information technology (hand‑held devices, Microsoft Office).
Qualifications And Training
 * Registered Nurse, currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (Adult RN).
 * Full, valid UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
