Are you a proactive and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon looking for an exciting role based in the North East area of London? Looking to progress in your career as a senior vet?

Our brilliant practice VetCall in Chingford are looking for a lead/senior vet to join our amazing team! You will be supported by our experienced and loyal team, who will be there with you every step of the way, alongside our RVN & Support Teams. We are very happy to support you in your area of expertise, and are happy to invest in any equipment you feel you need to provide the very best standards of care.

Within our independent group, we have a huge amount of certificate holding vets, with interests in Soft Tissue Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Dermatology, Exotics, Oncology & more, who are all there to support you and guide you in case discussion.

If you are looking for clinical progression, we want to help with this. We are a Vet-Led group, and our founders are super passionate about creating opportunity for the vets in our teams. We offer enhanced CPD packages, and are very happy to help with certificate funding. We are also very dedicated to ensuring that you feel that you are always offering the best standards of care, and that's why we offer zero perfect finance plans throughout all of the practices in our group, giving you that extra bit of support when it comes to those difficult conversations in the consultation room.

This is a Full-Time position, and because work/life balance is important to us, we offer a standard 4 day working week to all of our vet teams, with a small share on the Saturday rota.

This is a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours across 4 days per week, including 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis. There are no OOH requirements, allowing for a healthy work–life balance.

Information About the Practice

The practice is purpose-built and conveniently located within a busy retail park, offering free onsite parking and excellent transport links. The team enjoys working in a supportive, collaborative environment, with an experienced Head Vet and skilled nursing team who pride themselves on delivering exceptional patient care and client service. The practice culture encourages clinical freedom and professional growth while maintaining a strong sense of teamwork.

Description of the Role

The successful candidate will manage a varied small animal caseload, covering routine consultations, soft tissue surgery and some orthopaedic procedures. The role also involves occasional sole charge duties, so confidence in independent clinical decision-making is essential. Vets are supported to develop their skills through access to complex procedures and a diverse range of cases, working alongside an experienced and engaged clinical team.

The Ideal Candidate

Applicants must be RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeons with experience in small animal practice and confident in both consults and surgery. Previous sole charge experience is desirable, along with excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be motivated to deliver high-quality clinical care, and enjoy contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.

Practice Equipment List

The practice is equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, in-house cytology, a new ultrasound machine and a full in-house laboratory. The facilities support a wide range of diagnostic and surgical procedures, enabling the team to deliver comprehensive and efficient veterinary care.

Welcome to West Ham! This well-run practice in the East End of London is looking for an additional full-time vet, to join their growing team.

About your new role!

In the bustling heart of popular East London is this hugely popular first opinion practice that is looking for an additional vet, to work alongside their incredible senior vet.

The rota can offer flexibility with a 30-40 hour weekly option, which is inclusive of a 1:4 branch run Saturday and 1:8 hospital Sunday rotation. You will be rota ‘d to up to 2 bank holidays per year and be included in the last resort on-call and twilight rotation for the Wanstead Hospital.

Included in your initial induction period is also a hospital induction day to get to grips with hospital working before your first hospital shift.

We are looking for a future colleague who enjoys working in a busier GP environment and is comfortable with routine surgery and dentals, although you will have ample support from your senior vet who loves to teach.

You will be fully supported by a full-time senior vet, senior RVN, incredibly passionate trainee nurses and a regional manager whose support is invaluable to her region.

West Ham is also fully supported by Wanstead Veterinary Hospital for more complex cases and OOH. It has extensive 24-hr facilities including CT, an excellent ultrasound, scopes, laparoscopic equipment, and an array of specialists and provides a good environment to develop your ECC skills on your Sundays.

The practice itself is smack bang in the middle between West Ham Park and Stratford, and a short 8 minute walk from the nearest train station (DLR) to take you all over London and into Essex.

Now let’s get to the nitty gritty, here is what we offer you:

The salary band for this position inclusive of weekend rotation is £45,000 to £1,000 FTE depending on prior experience and allowing room for growth within the role.
