An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and influential professional leader to join our organisation as Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP - Unplanned Care. Applications are welcome from appropriately experienced registered nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.
As a core member of the Unplanned Care Group management team, you will be responsible for providing excellent professional nursing leadership across the Unplanned Care Group, assuring the provision of safe, effective and evidence-based care within an agreed quality and financial framework.
As Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP you will support the Deputy Chief Nurse by providing strategic and operational leadership and direction and will deputise across the full range of their portfolio. The post holder will need proven leadership skills, experience at a strategic level, and the ability to motivate and engage others as part of a multi-professional team using sound management and leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
The Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP works in partnership with the Associate Medical Director and Associate Director of Unplanned Care Group, with operational accountability for workforce, service delivery, clinical quality & safety, and financial control, implementing corporate objectives and Trust strategy.
You will define care group objectives, ensure quality standards are met, and address performance gaps. You will be accountable for the delivery and performance of nursing/therapy staff, ensuring compliance with standards of care and of Care Quality Commission requirements.
You will have lead responsibility for clinical governance, including infection control, risk management and management of serious incidents and complaints, ensuring action plans are completed and lessons learned.
You will provide clinical leadership for nursing/AHP staff, creating an environment that promotes high standards of clinical and professional practice, resulting in high quality patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC or AHP registration
* Extensive experience of senior NHS management in nursing or AHP
* Master's degree or equivalent experience
Experience
* Quality and risk management
* Managing multi-professional groups
* Working across organisational boundaries and developing effective partnerships
* Extensive knowledge of patient safety and quality
* Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of professional and NHS issues and policy
* Producing high quality written reports/papers to aid decision making/assurance process
* Managing budgets and delivering cost improvements within a quality framework
