We have an exciting new job opportunity for a KS1 Early Years Reception Teacherwho is an excellent classroom practitioner with outstanding subject knowledge in Maths an English and an up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and a variety of pedagogical tools.
Working as a KS1 Early Years Reception Teacheryou will be responsible for overseeing the academic and pastoral development of the children in the class, and teaching core and additional subjects within the timetabling arrangements of the year group.
As a KS1 Early Years Reception Teacheryou must be an enthusiastic support of outdoor education as you will be part of a completely new, comprehensive outside learning experience, whereby children will be taught off-site on alternate Mondays in a Forest School Environment.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL RECEPTION
The selective nature of the school means that most children join having already met the EYFS requirements, which are then build on in a bespoke curriculum which includes learning number bonds up to and including 20, cursive handwriting and reaching “Probable Reader” status by the end of the academic year.
DUTIE
Your duties as a KS1 Early Years Reception Teacherwill include:
1. Teach and assume the responsibilities of the Form Teacher, looking after the day-to-day safety, welfare and pastoral needs of the children in the form
2. Prepare appropriate lesson plans adapted to the needs of the existing knowledge of pupils
3. Organise termly form outings that support the curriculum
4. Research and provide appropriate teaching resources for the pupils
5. Collation of work for the school magazine
6. Responsible for creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment for the children
7. Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching
8. Contribute to the school curriculum
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
9. Qualified to at least degree level
10. Recognised teaching qualification
11. Qualified to teach in the UK
12. Outstanding subject knowledge in Maths and English
13. An up-to-date knowledge of curriculum developments and a variety of pedagogical tools
14. Knowledge of KCSiE
15. Experience of teaching in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 or Year 3
16. Experience of supporting pupils of all abilities to make excellent progress
17. Excellent classroom practitioner
18. Uses new technology effectively to enhance learning
19. Enjoy the challenge of working with exceptionally bright children in a fast-paced classroom where the School works several years beyond national curriculum level
