About the Role:
An exciting opportunity to join Derby City Council's Bereavement Services Department as a Trainee Cemetery Technician. We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our cemetery team. The need to work with care, dignity and upmost professionalism at all times is essential. An ambition to strive for excellence in meeting the needs of service users and a can do attitude will be the characteristics of the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of graves for scheduled burials across all city cemeteries.
• Communicate effectively with team members, Funeral Directors and the public.
• Provision of out of hours burials using on call system.
• Ensure customer care and high-quality standards are upheld.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
• Full current driving licence
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic level of IT skills
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Commitment to customer care, quality standards, and equal opportunity
