We are currently recruiting for experienced Intelligence Researcher to work on a long-term, full-time contract.
The office is based near Coventry, but the client is open to remote working.
The role is paying £17.00 per hour.
The role will be situated within a security setting, so applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting.
Role overview:
To provide an intelligence research function supporting motor finance fraud, plant and agricultural theft, freight crime and caravan security business areas within the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To research crime reports, processed data, intelligence and information to identify patterns, risks, opportunities and intelligence gaps as directed by relevant business area.
2. To ensure that research supports operational needs with an approach that is structured and methodical.
3. To support ongoing or long-term analytical products with timely, accurate and systematic research of intelligence, data and open source.
4. To maintain, update and retrieve performance data and make it available to relevant personnel by use of force information communications systems.
5. To provide interpretation of data acting as point of reference for questions relating to performance information.
6. To maintain appropriate IT record keeping systems, and identify and account for issues surrounding data quality.
7. To carry out quality audits on issues as raised by local management or by force directive.
8. To establish a terms of reference in consultation with the customer and the analyst team for all tasked pieces of research. 9. To ensure that intelligence is obtained ethically and in accordance with all relevant legislation, policy and codes of practice
Knowledge/Experience:
Essential:
At least 1 years’ experience working in a busy office environment.
Proven IT skills, using Windows-based packages, in particular Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and advanced Excel skills.
Experience in handling quantitative and qualitative data.
The proven ability to combine information from multiple sources / systems, maintain databases or similar systems and summarise information.
Desirable:
Experience of working in a research role within an intelligence environment.
