Overview
This role involves working across St George’s two Stroke services, the Hyperacute Stroke Unit and Acute Stroke Unit, providing a high standard of physiotherapy service to patients within the Hyperacute and Acute Stroke Units across 3 days a week. The Neurosciences and Therapies directorates are dynamic and innovative, championing new ideas and developments from all team members. All services are formed of forward‑thinking, highly skilled and experienced Band 8a and B7 therapists with a range of specialisms across all domains of Neurotherapies.

Responsibilities
* Undertake a specialised neurological assessment of own workload of patients, who may have complex presentations, and from this assessment formulate a treatment plan and carry out this treatment as an autonomous practitioner.
* Supervise and teach peers, recently qualified physiotherapists/physiotherapy assistants/students, and be involved in teaching MDT staff.
* Undertake evidence‑based projects, including making recommendations for change in practice and participating in departmental research and audit as appropriate.
* Potential to be involved in Neuromuscular Clinical Trial portfolio for an additional 1 day per week.
There is also the potential to work as part of the Neuromuscular Clinical Research team providing support for the neuromuscular clinical research team and carry out outcome measures for the clinical trials. This can be discussed further prior to applying for the role or if invited to interview.
