Overview

Genomics England is a global leader in enabling genomic medicine and research, focused on creating a world where everyone benefits from genomic healthcare. Building on the 100,000 Genomes Project, we support the NHS’s world-first national whole genome sequencing service and run the growing National Genomic Research Library, alongside delivering numerous major genomics initiatives. By connecting research and clinical care at national scale, we enable immediate healthcare benefits and advances for the future.

Our mission is to provide the evidence and digital systems so that by 2035 genomics could play a role in up to half of all healthcare interactions, whilst securing the UK’s position as the best place to discover, prove and benefit from genomic innovations. We are accelerating our impact and working with patients, doctors, scientists, government and industry to improve genomic testing, and help researchers access the health data and technology they need to make new medical discoveries and create more effective, targeted medicines for everybody. Behind the Healthcare and Research outcomes, Genomics England delivers through designing, developing and operating complex healthcare software systems.

We\re on the cusp of big changes with the real prospect of genomics becoming the fabric of everyday healthcare through the lifetime – from birth to old age.

Job Description

Want to play a key role at Genomics England in sharing amazing work that genuinely changes lives and positively impacts healthcare for real people? As our Communications and Engagement Coordinator, you’ll be the glue for our busy, high-performing communications and engagement teams—keeping projects on track, content flowing, and events running smoothly.

This is a real hands-on role where you’ll manage requests, create and publish content, support events, and help improve how we work — balancing day-to-day delivery with opportunities to shape better processes.

What you’ll do

* Manage day-to-day project and planner activity in Monday.com, tracking milestones and keeping information up to date and accurate
* Triage and action incoming requests through our support forms, ensuring timely responses
* Supporting delivery of our events programme including logistics and on-the-day support, as well as overseeing the company-wide events approval process
* Collate content and produce internal/external emails, including our bi-weekly staff communications
* Create and publish engaging, accessible content on our internal and external websites
* Provide admin support across the team, including shared inbox management, purchase order and invoice management, and meeting coordination
* Support desk-based research and reporting, gathering information and producing clear summaries
* Help improve team processes and ways of working, including developing our use of Monday.com

What we’re looking for

* Experience coordinating tasks, managing priorities, and delivering to deadlines in a professional environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to clarify requirements and keep people aligned
* Excellent organisation and attention to detail — you follow things through and your work is reliable
* Comfort using Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools like Monday.com, and CMS/CRM platforms
* A practical, delivery-minded approach — happy doing the coordination and admin that underpins great communications, engagement and events
* A constructive mindset for improving how things are done

Opportunity

If you want a role where you’re trusted with real responsibility, work across a wide mix of communications and engagement activity, and can clearly see the impact of what you deliver week to week, this Communications and Engagement Coordinator role is a great opportunity to build strong, transferable experience while supporting work that is changing our national healthcare.

Salary and Closing Date

Salary From:£35,000 pa

Closing Date: Monday 11th May @ 23:00 (UK time)

Benefits

* Generous Leave: 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, plus additional leave for long service, and up to 30 days of remote working abroad annually (approval required)
* Family-Friendly: Blended working arrangements, flexible working, enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leave benefits
* Pension & Financial: Defined contribution pension (Genomics England double-matches up to 10%), Life Assurance (3x salary), and Give As You Earn
* Learning & Development: Individual learning budgets, support for training and certifications, and reimbursement for one annual professional subscription (approval required)
* Recognition & Rewards: Employee recognition programme and referral scheme
* Health & Wellbeing: Subsidised gym membership, free Headspace account, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme, eye tests, flu jabs
