We are a small, friendly, and independent dental practice seeking a motivated Apprentice Dental Nurse to join our close-knit team. Unlike larger corporate chains, we pride ourselves on a supportive, family-like atmosphere where every team member is valued.
This role offers a 360-degree introduction to dentistry. You will split your time between providing high-quality clinical assistance at the chairside and managing our front-of-house reception. This is a "hands-on" role ideal for someone committed to professional growth in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Support: Assist the dental team during treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
* Decontamination: Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments according to strict health and safety standards.
* Reception & Admin: Be the face of the practice, managing appointments, patient records, and follow-up communications.
* Clinical Environment: Maintain a clean, organised workspace and adhere to all infection control protocols.
Requirements & Compliance
Due to the nature of dental nursing, the successful candidate must meet the following criteria:
* Clinical Suitability: A willingness to work in a clinical environment involving contact with bodily fluids (blood, saliva, etc.) and a commitment to strict hygiene standards.
* Vaccinations: For your safety and the safety of our patients, a Hepatitis B vaccination is required. This will be fully funded and arranged by the practice.
* Background Checks: This position is subject to a Full Medical Check and an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, which we will facilitate.
* Personal Attributes: A positive attitude, a desire to learn, and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
Qualifications & Skills
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written English.
* Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks between the surgery and the reception desk.
* IT Literacy: Comfortable using basic computer systems (full training on dental software provided).
* Reliability: As an independent practice, we rely on each other; we are looking for a dependable and professional individual.
Why Join Our Team?
As an independent practice, we offer a unique, supportive learning environment where you won't just be a number. We invest in our apprentices, providing full training and covering the costs of your essential medical requirements and background checks.
