Teaching Assistant – Year 5 (Maternity Cover)
Location: Lytham St Annes (FY8)
Start Date: After Easter 2026 - 13th April 2026
Contract: Full‑time, Fixed‑term (12 months)
Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lytham St Annes. This is a maternity cover position within a Year 5 class, running for approximately one academic year.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support learning, provide targeted interventions, and help create a positive, inclusive environment where pupils can thrive. Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Year 5 teacher with classroom duties and daily routines
Delivering small‑group or one‑to‑one interventions
Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive learning attitudes
Helping to create engaging learning resources
Providing support to pupils with varying needs
Contributing to a safe, nurturing, and productive school environment
What We’re Looking For
Experience working within a primary school setting (KS2 experience desirable)
A caring, proactive approach and strong communication skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
Someone reliable, committed, and ready to make a difference

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
