Managing Consultant – Public Sector, Defence & Financial Services

💰 Up to £150,000 Base + 17.5% Bonus + Car Allowance
We’re partnering with a leading consulting organisation undergoing significant growth across its Technology Consulting practice and are looking to hire experienced Managing Consultants across several strategic practice areas.
This is a senior leadership position sitting just below Partner level — equivalent to Director level in many consultancies — combining both business development and client delivery leadership.
The Opportunity
These roles are ideal for commercially minded technology leaders who have built strong reputations within either:
* Public Sector
* Defence
* Financial Services
Successful candidates will bring deep domain expertise, strong client networks, and a proven ability to drive revenue while leading complex transformation programmes.
This is not a generalist consulting role. We are specifically looking for specialists who are recognised within their sector and can lead from the front in both sales and delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Leading strategic client engagements across enterprise technology transformation
* Owning and growing senior stakeholder relationships
* Driving new business development and contributing directly to sales targets
* Identifying and converting consulting opportunities within existing and new accounts
* Leading delivery teams across large-scale transformation programmes
* Acting as a trusted advisor to C-level and senior client stakeholders
* Helping shape go-to-market propositions across key industry verticals
This is a genuine 50/50 split between sales and delivery, so candidates must be comfortable operating commercially while maintaining delivery credibility.
Backgrounds We’re Interested In
We’re open to individuals coming from:
* Software Engineering leadership
* Technical Architecture
* Engineering Management
* DevOps / Platform Engineering leadership
However, all candidates must have:
* A strong software engineering or platform technology foundation
* Experience operating within consulting or client-facing environments
* Demonstrable business development capability
* Experience working toward or owning revenue/sales targets
