Position Overview
The Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support. This role plays a crucial part in delivering the highest standards of service efficiently to maintain customer plant and equipment as installed on site, covered by our maintenance and service contract. The goal is to maximize technician productivity, enhance the customer experience, and improve operational technical processes. Trane UK Ltd are seeking candidates from in or around the following post code locations: CM, SS, ME, TN, RH, EN, RM, DA, BR, CR, SM.
Key Responsibilities
Customer and Technical:
* Diagnose system problems when servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and customer site visits.
* Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), handle customer breakdowns, warranty work, hire, and commissioning workloads at customer sites.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted point of contact.
* Collaborate with Service desk, Sales, and Operations teams to share key customer insights.
* Use cutting-edge software, diagnostic tools, and hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
* Generate regular reports on completed and invoiced work orders.
* Foster strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
* Communicate updates effectively with supervisors, regional service managers, senior technicians, and customers to drive continuous improvement.
Internal Controls and Administration
* Proven experience in a service or field technician role.
* Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to motivate technicians and deliver excellent customer experiences.
* Effective communication skills.
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in using apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities
* Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is an advantage.
* Strong people and communication skills with a positive mindset.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Relevant skilled-based certificates, including F-Gas certification.
* Availability to cover standby and call-outs on a planned schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* UK Driver's license, as a company vehicle will be allocated.
* Right to Work status confirmed for the country of application.
