Key Responsibilities
* Manage a team of electricians and instrumentation technicians
* Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines
* Coordinate with other supervisors, engineers, and contractors
* Conduct site inspections and quality checks
* Review and approve documentation, including test records and inspection reports
Technical Requirements
* In-depth knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, including wiring, control systems, and instrumentation calibration
* Familiarity with relevant UK standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, IEC 61511)
* Experience with project management software and documentation control
Skills and Qualities
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
* Problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Typical qualifications include an HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus several years of experience in a similar role. Relevant certifications, such as City & Guilds or EAL, are also beneficial.
