Job Summary
The Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) plays a vital role in supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people. This position involves working closely with families, and professionals to deliver tailored interventions that promote positive mental health outcomes. The role will provide high quality, safe and responsive low-level mental health services to children and young people, and will liaise with parents/carers and professionals, in line with the principles of the NHS THRIVE model, working in partnership with service users and partner agencies (Mersy Care), working as part of a multi-agency system.
The CYWP role is specific to our contract with CAMHS, your role will be to provide short-term CBT based treatments to Children and Young People with common mental health problems.
Duties
* Provide direct support to children and young people, helping them to develop coping strategies and resilience utilising psychoeducation, Guided Self-Help etc. via Low Intensity CBT
* Collaborate with families, schools, and other stakeholders to create comprehensive care plans.
* Conduct assessments to identify the needs of children and young people, ensuring that interventions are appropriate and effective.
* Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and outcomes using IT systems.
* Conduct Routine Outcome Measures
* Compile reports
* Communicate effectively with children, young people, and their families to build trust and rapport.
* Stay updated on best practices in child mental health support through continuous professional development.
Experience
* Proven experience working with children in a professional or voluntary capacity is essential.
* A background in working with Children, Young People and families is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual needs is advantageous.
* Strong communication skills are required for effective engagement with children, young people, and their families.
* A valid driving licence is essential to facilitate travel between locations as needed.
