An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Education and Training team as a Practice Education Facilitator.
As part of the Workforce Education & Development (WE&D) Team, the post holder will be jointly responsible for ensuring that all agreed responsibilities between WAST and Higher Education Institutes (HEI) providing commissioned undergraduate Paramedic Science programmes are undertaken in conjunction with WE&D Senior Team.
Main duties of the job
* To support the Senior Education & Development Lead (Clinical) to ensure all HEI student placements are effectively coordinated and managed.
* To support the clinical induction of new registrants and lead on the development, implementation and sustained delivery of the Trusts Newly Qualified Paramedic (NQP) Consolidation/Preceptorship Program
* To support those registrants in the Practice Educator role and also support those registrants undertaking the clinical supervisor role for new registrants for the first time.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

In line with the Trust’s Starting Salary Procedure, all applicants will start at the bottom of the band for the position applied for, but can apply for a higher salary if they have previous experience relevant to the position.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Certificate in Adult Education, PCET, DET or equivalent
* A Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
* HCPC Registered Paramedic
* Evidence of personal development at middle management level or above
Experience

* Recognised skills and experience in Education, Learning and Development practices
* Knowledge of regulatory body requirements in relation to standards of education and proficiency.
* Experience of managing in a complex educational environment
* Experience of motivating, managing and developing effective teams Commitment and proven experience of partnership working
Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria
* Ability to deal with highly complex, sensitive, distressing situations
* Ability to work on own initiative, and organise own workload effectively
