A highly regarded law firm in Birmingham is seeking a talented Planning Solicitor to join its expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and respected Planning team, handling both contentious and non-contentious planning law matters.
You will be advising a wide variety of clients, including public sector bodies, landowners, developers, and other professionals involved in the development process. The team is led by a nationally recognised expert in securing public authority contributions through Section 106 agreements and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), with a focus on mitigating development impacts on population and health.
What you’ll be doing:
* Advising on the Town and Country Planning Act, Section 106 agreements, CIL, planning enforcement, judicial reviews, and Environmental Impact Assessments.
* Representing clients in both contentious and non-contentious planning law matters.
* Managing a varied caseload while building strong client relationships.
* Working closely with a team of specialists and collaborating across the firm to provide integrated advice.
* Keeping abreast of changes in planning law and legislation.
What we’re looking for:
* 3-5 years PQE in planning law, with experience in advising on complex planning issues.
* Solicitors with experience in Commercial Real Estate, Licensing, or Environmental Law backgrounds are also welcome to apply, particularly those interested in transitioning into planning law.
* Strong commercial awareness and proven client management abilities.
* Proactive approach to staying updated on developments in planning law.
* Excellent business development and networking skills.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
* Proficiency in relevant IT systems and software.
What’s on offer:
