Role DescriptionResponsible for the day to day management of the People Services central team, workload and activity.

Key tasks the team undertake include employment offers and changes, short term absence management, rewards and benefits administration, people system queries, payroll queries and general enquiries to a central shared inbox.

Dimensions:

1. Day to day management of the People Services team (4 direct reports)
2. Approximately 2, UK colleagues across 8 UK sites (including Head Office).Supporting the needs of colleagues, HR Business Partners, People Managers, Directors and Board members
3. Key stakeholders include wider People Operations team (Payroll and Systems & Reporting) and wider people team (Recruitment, Site HR teams and L&D)

Principal Responsibilities:

4. Activity planning for the People Services central function including required daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks and requirements
5. Ensure the team complete all tasks in a timely manner, aligned with SLAs with an emphasis on service delivery and quality
6. Lead by example ensuring involvement in day to day activity when required alongside process improvements and key projects
7. Develop, analyse and present Management information to drive continuous improvement across the function
8. Design and implement a clear training pathway ensuring all members of the team are fully competent and developed in their role
9. Drive positive behaviours within the team including ownership, accountability, customer satisfaction and customer service
10. Work collaboratively with the wider function on projects, process improvements and initiatives to improve the overall colleague experience
11. Support the People Operations Manager with the management of benefits administration including pensions, private medical insurance, flexible holiday scheme, life assurance and critical illness schemes
Role RequirementsKnowledge, Skills & Experience:
12. Experience of working within a People Operations/Services or Shared Services environment, preferably in a Team Leader position
13. Experience of managing a team
14. Significant experience of undertaking and managing HR administrative tasks including processing new starters, leavers and changes, supporting with short term absence management and payroll queries
15. Experience of using People related systems including time and attendance would be desirable (Salesforce and OneAdvance would be a benefit)
16. Passionate about creating a positive experience throughout the colleague lifecycle
17. Curious, keen to learn and instil a learning culture within the team
18. Ability to lead and inspire a team, drive individual and team performance, coach for success and get the best out of all team members
19. Excellent customer services skills with ability to communicate to and influence others – strong verbal and written communication skills
20. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill, high level of attention to detail and accuracy
21. Excellent planning and organising skills with ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, priorities effectively and adapt quickly to the changing needs of the function and wider business
22. Calm under pressure, ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise own and team workload accordingly
23. Ability to work under own initiative as part of a wider team structure
