Job Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Medical Secretary to join the General Surgery Administration Team in Glan Clwyd Hospital.
Main Duties
The role involves providing a comprehensive range of secretarial and administration duties to the General Surgery Department. This challenging position requires someone who is a team player, flexible, organised and able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will need to be an experienced typist, qualified to RSA Typing Level II (or equivalent), possess excellent communication skills, and represent the department with due professionalism. Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
* NVQ Business Administration L3 or equivalent experience
* RSA / OCR level 2 or equivalent (proficient user of Microsoft Word)
* IT related qualification CLAIT plus / ECDL or equivalent
Desirable Criteria:
* AMSPAR – City & Guilds L3
* NVQ Customer Service L3
Experience
Essential Criteria:
* Knowledge of a range of administrative processes
* Experience of working in a busy office environment
* Experience of typing
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience of working within the NHS
Skills
Essential Criteria:
* Competently communicates professionally and effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications
* Experienced in planning, organising and prioritising own workload
