We are seeking an experienced leader with a passion for person-centred care, ready to drive transformation and continuous improvement in Adult Services, in a forward-thinking, supportive environment. The Principal Officer - Service Provision leads a large, dynamic service supporting adults with care and support needs across Swansea, overseeing Council run day opportunities and 24/7 residential services. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal Officer to oversee Service Provision, which includes day opportunities and 24/7 residential services for adults aged 18 to 100+. You will be part of Adult Services Senior Management Team and responsible for leading a service area with over 500 employees, supporting thousands of people from Swansea. Our service provision includes Residential Homes offering bedded reablement, long-term care, specialist dementia care, respite and short-term beds, as well as Day Opportunities for adults with diverse care and support needs in centres and in the community.
Responsibilities
* Lead the service area through a period of transformation, ensuring the highest quality of care and support.
* Oversee the effective use of resources, maximising service utilisation and impact.
* Maintain and continue to improve standards across all service settings, including residential homes and day opportunities.
* Support adults to achieve their personal outcomes, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding.
* Work closely with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to deliver integrated, person-centred services.
Qualifications
* Proven leadership experience in adult social care or a related field.
* Strong track record of managing large teams and complex service areas.
* Commitment to high-quality, person-centred care and support.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to drive change and inspire others during periods of transformation.
* Knowledge of current legislation, best practice, and opportunities facing Adult Social Care.
