The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may have contact with vulnerable service users. The role may require occasional coverage at other sites (e.g., Newquay, Bodmin) as our admin team covers Restormel and North Cornwall.

Job Overview

An opportunity to join the friendly, busy MSK physiotherapy outpatient service at St Austell Community Hospital as part of the Admin and Clerical team. We deliver high quality care and are committed to our values: Compassion, Happiness, Ownership, Integrity, Connection and Equity.

The main role is to provide patient-facing reception and administrative cover to a busy outpatient physiotherapy department.


Main duties of the job

* Organise clinics, letter writing, and telephone calls to organise appointments.
* Ordering, data entry and managing our electronic booking and patient notes system (RIO).
* Work with own initiative within a busy team; organise and prioritise work; communicate well; adaptable and flexible.
* Occasional coverage at Newquay and Bodmin physio OPD as needed.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications (Essential)

* Good general education including GCSE English or equivalent
* RSA II Typing/Word processing CLAIT level 2 or equivalent
* NVQ 2 Administration or equivalent

Experience (Essential)

* Proven use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Proven experience of working in a busy office/department
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Able to work in a pressured environment
* Experience in the use of Email and Internet

Desirable

* Previous reception experience
