A leading Scotland-wide public sector organisation is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Procurement Administrator to strengthen their fast‑paced procurement function. This position offers hybrid working with an office based in the centre of Edinburgh. They are looking for someone who can start immediately.
Your new role
1. Coordinate purchasing tasks by organising and progressing requests for goods, services and works, ensuring all activity follows organisational rules and wider requirements.
2. Keep procurement information accurate by updating records, maintaining system data, and helping shape the operational tools and documents that support effective buying and contract oversight.
3. Build constructive relationships with suppliers and internal teams, carrying out research, supporting new supplier setup, and helping ensure newly agreed contracts are integrated smoothly into everyday operations.
4. Support colleagues throughout the duration of each contract by responding to enquiries, assisting with any issues that arise, and ensuring documentation and evidence areplete and well‑maintained.
5. Work with different departments to understand service needs and help identify options that could improve efficiency, strengthen service delivery, or achieve better overall value.
What you'll need to succeed
6. Strong administrative background, confident in managing records, coordinating workloads, and maintaining accurate documentation across busy office environments.
7. Sound working knowledge of procurement practice andernance, with experience applying structured processes in regulated settings.
8. Strong relationship‑building skills, providing supportive and professional service to colleagues and suppliers.
9. Adaptable and proactive,fortable working independently, prioritising tasks, and solving day‑to‑day issues with minimal supervision.
10. Clearmunicator, confident in explaining procedures and requirements in a straightforward way.
11. Highly organised, able to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks in changing circumstances.
