Job Description:
Pulse’s Phlebotomy Team is recruiting experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers for a full-time role based in the Yorkshire & Humber area.
The roles involve providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services locally within Yorkshire & Humber. Candidates must have at least 1 year of blood-drawing experience and proof of competency as a phlebotomist.
This is an established program seeking new candidates as it advances into its next phase.
Position Details:
* Role: Phlebotomist/Healthcare Support Worker
* Location: Yorkshire & Humberside
* Hours: 2-3 days per week, shift patterns vary
* Duration: Ongoing
Essential Skills:
* Recent phlebotomy experience of at least 12 months
* Proof of competency
* Driving license beneficial due to mobile sites
Candidates should have HCA experience and be available to work 2-3 days weekly, including Sundays. Working hours are from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, with Sunday hours from 10:30 am to 5 pm. The position is available until June 2024, with potential site changes to Hull, York, or East Riding. Sites are mobile, moving every 4-5 weeks, so driving ability is advantageous.
The pay rate is up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate), with weekend enhancements.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct POCT cholesterol checks, record height, weight, waist measurements, heart rate, and blood pressure, and input data.
* Draw and label two blood samples per participant, ensuring correct storage.
* Monitor participant welfare, escalate issues as needed.
* Provide signposting, advice, and guidance to participants.
* Prepare sample boxes for courier collection after each shift.
Requirements:
* Minimum 12 months recent phlebotomy experience
* Willingness to fully register with our agency
