About the role We are looking for a proactive and experienced Site Agent to take on a leadership role in our A57 Highways project. You will be responsible for managing and leading a multidisciplinary team consisting of Sub Agents, Section Engineers, and Site Engineers, with a key focus on delivering projects to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. As a Site Agent, you'll also take charge of smaller projects, monitor budgets, manage resources, and ensure the successful completion of your project segment. What you'll be doing Key Responsibilities: Health, Safety & Environmental Management Lead the way with a relentless focus on Zero Harm and continuously champion the safety culture on site. Set health, safety, and environmental targets, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance with site-specific safety plans. Conduct safety tours, incident investigations, and identify improvements. Keep up to date with relevant legislation and guide your team accordingly. Engineering Control Allocate resources effectively and ensure the team is adequately trained and capable. Monitor engineering processes and ensure quality control across the project. Quality Assurance & Compliance Implement systems and processes that align with project objectives and company policies. Conduct site audits, implement corrective actions, and take ownership of handover documentation for the section. Productivity & Performance Management Set performance targets aligned with project objectives and oversee team performance. Monitor productivity and carry out analysis to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Lead weekly team meetings to assess site progress and manage sub-contractor performance based on KPIs. Commercial & Budget Management Manage costs effectively, prepare cost plans, and track the financial progress of the project. Ensure that subcontractor procurement, cost recovery, and risk schedules are managed and updated as required. Participate in weekly cost meetings and take appropriate actions to address improvement areas. Who we're looking for Personal Qualities and Experience: Essential: Proven experience in managing and leading multidisciplinary teams in construction projects, ideally in highway works. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, accident investigations, and environmental considerations. Experience in managing construction budgets, tracking progress, and ensuring cost-effective project delivery. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor junior staff. A proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to adapt and manage challenges on site. SMSTS qualified and holds a valid CSCS card. Excellent communication and decision-making skills. Experience in managing infrastructure works including drainage, pavement reconstruction, roadworks, and surfacing operations. Desirable: Formal qualification in leadership (e.g., ILM, APM) or working towards. Experience with NEC contracts or other relevant forms of contracts. Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE, IHT).
