Salary: £95-120 per day (depending on hours)

About the Role - Level 3 Teaching Assistant
We are recruiting for an experienced Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join a thriving primary school in Islington. This full-time position offers the opportunity to take on greater responsibility in supporting teaching and learning, working across different year groups and taking a lead role in delivering targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide high-quality support to pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2
2. Lead small group interventions and targeted learning programmes
3. Support classroom teachers with lesson planning and preparation
4. Deliver pre-planned lessons under teacher guidance when required
5. Assess and monitor pupil progress, maintaining detailed records
6. Support pupils with varying needs, including those with SEN
7. Mentor and guide lower-level teaching assistants
8. Assist with educational visits and extra-curricular activities
9. Contribute to staff meetings and professional development sessions
10. Support with administrative tasks as required
Essential Requirements
11. Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – please note this must be a Diploma not a Certificate
12. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Teaching Assistant in primary education
13. Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment methods
14. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
15. Proven ability to work independently and use initiative
16. Experience delivering interventions and small group teaching
17. Strong communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
18. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
19. Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
Desirable Requirements
20. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or working towards
21. Experience across multiple year groups (EYFS to Year 6)
22. Knowledge of phonics programmes (e.g., Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
23. Understanding of data tracking and assessment systems
24. Experience with SEN support and EHCP processes
25. Additional qualifications in Maths or English support
26. First Aid qualification
27. Experience mentoring junior staff
