About Dundee Pride
Dundee Pride is a registered charity with a mission to combat discrimination and violence towards LGBTQ+ communities and to promote equality, visibility, and inclusion across Dundee and the surrounding region. Each year the charity organises a vibrant Pride event, featuring a march, performances, community stalls, and connected cultural programming, bringing together LGBTQ+ people and allies in celebration and activism.
Role Purpose
The Event Producer will be responsible for end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of Dundee Pride. This role ensures the event runs safely, smoothly, and aligns with Dundee Pride’s values and strategic objectives. The Producer will work with volunteers, partners, performers, vendors, city authorities, and contractors to bring the Pride vision to life on the day and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
* Shape the overall creative and logistical vision for Dundee Pride in line with organisational goals.
* Work with the board and festival partners to define event themes, programming strands, and key experiences.
Project & Production Management
* Lead detailed planning and delivery of the Pride march, main festival site, Slessor Gardens, associated stages, vendors, and activities.
* Create and manage comprehensive event production plans, timelines, and risk assessments.
* Coordinate technical logistics (site infrastructure, accessibility, sound, staging, lighting, power, in conjunction with the technical team).
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build and maintain relationships with, suppliers, and performers.
* Act as the main contact on the day of Dundee Pride for local authorities, licencing bodies, emergency services, and other external stakeholders.
Talent & Program Coordination
* Source, contract, and manage performers/acts, MCs, speakers, and workshop facilitators where applicable.
* Work with community partners to curate inclusive and diverse content across stages/activities.
Budgeting & Financial Control
* Develop and manage event budgets, tracking expenditure and working to financial targets.
* Help secure funding for the event
* Work with the fundraising/partnerships team to align sponsor deliverables with event execution.
* Brief and support event day volunteers and team members to fulfil operational roles.
* Create clear briefs and support materials for volunteers.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure event complies with all health and safety regulations, public liability requirements, and licensing conditions.
* Implement crowd management, accessibility, and welfare planning.
Marketing & Communications Support
* Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to amplify promotions, participant information, and partner communications.
Candidate Profile
* Strong experience in live event production, city festivals, public celebrations, or similar large-scale events.
* Excellent project management skills, with an ability to deliver under pressure.
* Effective communicator with experience working across diverse stakeholder groups.
* Ability to balance creative vision with practical logistics.
* Experience producing community, cultural, or LGBTQ+ events.
* Understanding of inclusive event design and sensitivity to diversity and equality issues.
