At Stokes Wood Primary School, we have a new position open for an Office Manager to join a friendly administrative team, providing an efficient point of contact within our reception.
This is a term time position for 41 weeks of the year. 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Friday at local government grade 6 point 15-18. This is initially a 1 year fixed term contract, with a view to converting to a permanent contract at the end of that year.
Job overview
•Ensure that the school meets its statutory employment and equality obligations and complies with appropriate DfE, LA and School policies, procedures and systems.
•Liaise as and when appropriate with outside personnel, including the LA, legal/HR departments, the DPO and other statutory and professional bodies.
•To oversee and check all statutory and LA returns, ensuring they comply with appropriate standards and are returned in good time of deadlines
•To lead and maintain administrative procedures to ensure the Safeguarding of children (including the maintenance of a single central record and safer recruitment checks
•To be responsible for the maintenance of up-to-date accurate personnel records in accordance with statutory requirements.
•To support the school in achieving positive and effective lines of communication with parents, stakeholders and suppliers.
•To ensure the effective running of the main office, leading and managing the appraisal process for office staff.
•To ensure accuracy and confidentiality in dealing with requests and maintain records in line with GDPR legislation.
•To oversee Human Resource management across the school including absence management procedures
•To comply with and promote the school’s health and safety policies.
Job requirements
1. Minimum of a grade C in GCSE Maths and English
2. Ability to prioritise tasks on a day-to-day basis
3. Experience of using information management systems including Arbor and FMS along with strong IT skills
4. A high level of verbal and written communication standards
5. Proven ability to show reliability and to work to meet key deadlines
