Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - The post holder will manage and lead a dedicated technical team with responsibility for a range of technical services, including the development of the team members within the Faculty and Schools of Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. They will introduce new scientific and technical methods to enhance service provision and lead and manage the established work of the team(s) to provide ongoing technical support to established and future teaching and research activity within their department/area. - ABOUT YOU - - Educated to degree level or equivalent level qualification, in a technical or science-related discipline. - Evidence of experience in the analysis, design, development, operation and modification of complex and sophisticated scientific systems, clinics or laboratories. - Evidence of administrative experience, including effective record keeping and financial aspects such as costing and stock control in a technical services context, as well as extensive practical experience in the use and understanding of procurement and finance systems, including tendering. - Successful management of technical provisions (both physical and human) needed to ensure efficient operation of the Faculty and associated areas (includes scientific, laboratory and research facilities).
