Job Summary
Black & Veatch are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Glasgow or London office, supporting a variety of EPC projects within the UK and wider EMEA region. You’ll prepare EPC subcontractor scopes of work, manage tender evaluation, contract award and the delivery of works.
You must be able to commute to the office 3 days per week and be able to travel to project/client sites throughout the region as necessary. #LI-JF1
Key Responsibilities
1. Provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies
2. Prepares EPC subcontractor scopes of work and manages subsequent tender evaluation and contract award
3. Manages the delivery of EPC works
4. Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects
5. Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
6. Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
7. Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements
8. Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis problems and methods
9. Reviews lower level engineering work or assignments
10. Is responsible for one or more of the following: leading larger production teams; coordinating multiple discipline activity; and serving as the responsible charge for a project
11. Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects
12. Identification of key client interests and drivers, communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on moderately complex projects
13. Typically provides support to business development or pursuit activities
14. Serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area
15. Develops and applies advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems
16. Implements resource management strategy, manages engineering resources for small groups of a single discipline
Management Responsibilities
Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
Substantial related work experience
Experience working on UK EPC energy projects
Understanding of UK Grid Code
