Overview
We are seeking a reliable Casual Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves a combination of driving duties and warehouse operations, supporting the efficient movement and management of stock within our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive attitude, mechanical aptitude, and experience in warehouse environments. This position offers flexible hours and an opportunity to develop a broad skill set within logistics and materials handling.
Responsibilities
Delivery Driver
* To transport and deliver goods to branches and customers as directed.
* Check that all invoices and parts match before delivery.
* Complete the Delivery Sheet with the invoice number and customer name.
* Advise customers of special offers/products available /signs/catalogues.
Warehouse Operative
* Check all parcels carefully, sorting goods in part number order so they can be easily matched with the advice notes.
* Report all discrepancies and damaged goods immediately.
* Accurately input on the system all goods received.
* Accurately de – allocate on the system, stock that is moving to another branch.
* Put all goods away with due care and attention into their proper locations.
* Always read the picking note carefully and ensure that the right parts & quantities are picked in the first instance.
* All inter – branch transfers and goods invoices to customers should be picked accurately. Pay particular attention to unit quantities and always pick the correct part numbers. Pack the goods sensibly and have them ready for dispatch at the designated areas.
* Put items in the proper location for drivers to deliver.
Experience
* Previous experience in warehouse management or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
* Proven ability to operate forklifts safely (certification is advantageous)
* Experience with stock control, picking & packing, shipping & receiving, load & unload procedures
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management tasks
