Hendy Group has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & HR Specialist to join our People & Payroll team, playing a vital role in ensuring colleagues are supported, paid accurately, and able to thrive throughout their employment journey.
The Opportunity
Going far beyond just processing payroll, as a Payroll & HR Specialist, you will be a trusted first point of contact for People & Payroll queries, delivering operational excellence and ensuring our colleagues receive the highest standard of support. You will play a key role in maintaining robust processes, ensuring compliance, and driving accuracy across all areas of payroll and people administration.
You will also support the wider People Team on key employment matters, helping to influence positive colleague experiences and strengthen our people operations across the Group.
Responsibilities
* Managing starter, mover, and leaver processes, issuing contracts and associated documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
* Ensuring colleagues are paid correctly and on time, maintaining compliance with payroll legislation and internal controls.
* Managing key benefits such as Pension and Family Leave, ensuring smooth administration and colleague understanding.
* Analysing, reconciling, and validating monthly payroll and data reports, identifying discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
* Partnering with the wider People Team to support on employment matters and provide aligned, timely administration.

About You
You will bring a strong eye for detail, a calm and methodical approach, and a commitment to delivering excellent service. You will also have:
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail;
* Ability to manage high-volume requests confidentially and efficiently, working to tight deadlines;
* Understanding of employment legislation and HR/payroll best practice;
* Previous payroll experience, with a basic understanding of payroll processes;
* Experience using MHR/iTrent (advantageous);
* A collaborative mindset, with the willingness to support colleagues and work as part of a wider team.
